Come away

Been thinking a lot recently about journeys. Perhaps too much time alone on the tube has done that to me. But it's struck me that how you get somewhere is often just as important as actually getting there. The Israelites wandering in the wilderness for 38 years being a clear example. A time of purification and preparation. Living in such a goal orientated city sometimes makes it difficult to learn the lessons that we need to learn from the journey. Sometimes you have to plan space to 'come away'. Maybe I should spend more time on the tube.

Prayer Event

Prayer Event every Thursday

Worship is at the Heart of our life in koinonia. When we worship God we are transformed. We become like the one that we behold. Our Thursday night prayer meetings are at the centre of our life. We gather as a people to worship God. To give Him his due, to be transformed, and to offer our lives.
Our prayer events are
- Ecumenical – that is we have Christians from a variety of Christian traditions - Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and others.
- Charismatic – that is we worship using the gifts and in the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe these gifts are available for God's people today.
- Open – all are welcome. Whether from a Christian background or not.
These events take place at All Soul's Clubhouse, Cleveland Street.
Prayer is 7.30 – 9.
BBQ often on offer 6.30 – 7.30 Check out the calendar for details of this week.
Most of us go for a pint afterwards nearby.”

Stopping to breathe

My little brother decided on Sunday morning that he was going to run a marathon that day. He did it in 3.47 I was rather impressed. It would take me months to plan. I was struck by the absurd spontaneity of it all.
As a good mexican friend of mine would say: "mental!"

Sometimes it's good to find life in spontaneity.

Sometimes I 'stand on the right' just so I can slow to pray. And breathe.
